What happened

Away scored after a patient build-up through the midfield. They played a through ball into the box, bypassing the Home defensive line, allowing the attacker to receive the ball centrally and finish into the bottom corner.

What went well

Away showed good patience, waiting for the defensive gap to open before playing the final pass. The timing of the run into the box was excellent.

Tips & drills

1. LCB and RCB: stay half turned so you see the ball and the striker. When their CM lifts his head, call Step on mic and move up together, or drop together.
2. CDM: screen the lane between their CM and the striker. Stand in the passing line, not on the ball carrier, so the CBs can hold their spots.
3. RB: tuck in when the ball is central so the gap to your RCB stays small. Intercept and Anticipate help you read the through ball.
